Here's one source for colored Hemp - Seattle based company too. I'm

No offense to the shop, but I would expect them to do their homework
on this issue. I hope they order the correct size tires for you.

I found black, hemp twine at a local craft store (Michael's). I found
that the twine faded easily on another bike, so I "dyed" it with a
black, permanent marker. The results have been great after many months
of riding. Also, the black looked funky with amber shellac. Clear was
much better.

Nitto, in common with many manufacturers, changes details over time.
For instance, I've got Nitto's big rear rack & have noticed several
variations in photos. Ask your vendor for specifics on what they've
got in stock.

Since the Atlantis is a touring bike, 8 speed is plenty IMHO. I'd go
with the shifters you have & the Harris custom 13-34. Never had a 9
speed but as more parts get stuffed into a space, things get more
finicky. Finicky is not desireable when touring. On the BB question,

I'm probably going to have my Atlantis re-painted in the near future,
and was going to have the low rider braze-ons on the fork lowered to
better match a Tubus front rack and have a braze on added from a Gino

When I started riding, everything was bolted on with band-type clamps,
some fancier than others. When I saw braze-ons on a Mercian touring
frame for the first time, I asked why most bikes (e. g. Italian or
French -style Racing/Sport Touring Bikes, ) didn't have them, I was
told that braze-ons weak

Hi Angus,
Thought about a chain hanger?
Have you considered going with a Schmidt dynohub? Wiring guides on the
fork would be nice for the front headlight. Also, if you were going to
run a tail-light, it'd be nice to run the wire through the downtube,
