The mustache affords a surprisingly aero position when laying flat on it as

I have not found that unprotected cork tape wears quickly. I've had the same
cork tape out in rain, shine, and winter weather for 10 years and probably over
10k miles. It still has good grip, doesn't soak up water, hasn't cracked, and
is still cushy. I've cleaned it a few times with some generic

My current M-bar setup. Far less "neat" looking than the traditional
setup, but is much more upright and I find comfortable.

This is the image of the rider getting aero on moustache bars:

It's pineapple bob, who worked at bstone, was featured in many bstone

Yes, that's it. Thanks Jeremy. I've bookmarked the link. I actually can lay

Beth,
Mendocino is one of the nicest place to ride. You can start from
Mendocino proper. Go out of town and go inland on Ukiah Comptche Road.
Take that all the way to Comptche. Take Flynn Creek Road toward HWY
128. Come back to HWY 1 on HWY 128, then ride up the coast back up to
Mendocino. $40 mi

But don't look at a map and say, "Oh Fish Rock road looks like a good

Wow, I hadn't noticed that until now either about the missing DT

can always add the cable stops, but not vice versa. It was a design
decision, assuming you'd be using bar ends, brifters or thumb shifters.

Eric, I wouldn't think they'd be offering these if they didn't fit,
that'd be a waste of hardware and bad business as customers would

That's the proper use for a Wald basket, at least when it comes to
nice bikes like Rivendells: the Wald on the table, the bike on the
road, and ne'er the twain shall meet.

You can't go doing too many things that will raise the price. I myself

Agreed. However, I've heard that other builders have specified
certain bottom brackets with early builds, then the final bike ends up
different enough that the "correct" bottom bracket didn't work.
(Sometimes what is specified from a Taiwan builder and what is built
can be two different things.)

Maybe it was just the extra distance and it wouldn't matter what kind of
bars you had.
If you want to be more upright, Albatross bars are a better bet than
M-bars. I don't feel much/any more upright with them than with Dirt Drops,
and miss the "drop" position on longer rides.

On Sat,
I've had a set of the Mustache handlebars on my Schwinn Paramount for
a number of years. I purchased them before Rivendell was founded from
a local (Tucson) Bridgestone bicycle dealer, after Grant had designed
his iconic XO-1.
