As I recall in the early single-digit readers and 1996 catalogue,
Grant specified custom guages for his 753 tubing. I think chainstays,
even on the early road standards , were heavier, and I believe longer
butts, especially for the downtubes were used. Early all-rounders and
Mountain exped
UPS delivered mine today. a 1995 RBW (made at Waterford). Someone posted that
the WI shop used heavy tubing and I was afraid that my Rivvie would feel more
like a Batavius. I put it on a scale after opening the box, and the frame,
fork, and Chris King head set all together scale at 5 1/4 lbs.
