Hum... If the outer aluminum has deformed threads and you can justify
"bashing" as "crashing", you might be able to leverage VP Components "Crash
Warranty". Probably worth a call (800 number on VP-USA website) and polite
inquiry.

Thanks, Tom. One question I have is what caused this? If I bashed the outer
AL to deform the circular threads, then a build kit won't help. I'm
guessing this is the case because it did not turn easily at all, but
threads were clean.
