I like the Fizik Microtex bar tape, and there is a honey brown color
tape product by the manufacturer that has been available in Europe for
some time. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be any
availability of this color through U.S. distributors/retailers. This
seems like a strange situation
Somewhere on the Rivendell site there is a green bike with a bar
wrapped in two colors -- one side green, one side pink. I think it
looks fantastic.

I think the black will look just fine untill you wear it out. gives
you a reason to ride more.
Do you prefer the thickness and cush of the cork tape? I have found I
prefer the Somafab thick and zesty to wrap my hands around and it
matches with almost any shade of brown

I like the combination of medium blue and an olive-ish green. Go over
the cork. That's what I'd do unless they are Mustache bars, which are
already pretty thick.
