I have a similar situation with my Kogswell G, which also has the render and track end issue. I just loosen the struts when taking the wheel out, which isn't too annoying when you have hex-bolt actuated hubs like Pauls or Phils or Profiles. The SKS idea is a good 'un though! Sad that I missed
