Those were painted on site in Taiwan. The most common complaint (and there

Not so much the color, although the white was a lot whiter - I had
asked for something more cream - than the quality of the
application.
The paint on the frame is baked on to a high standard to allow for an
almost glass like finish. Too glass like as it turned out. Minor ding

I like the looks, too, which is relief because I pre-ordered a 54 last
week. I'm looking forward to seeing the blue and the orange panels,
but I might be sold on the red already. Rugged good looks.
No opinion on the lug lining. I think it looks nice, but it might
look even better without it. I
Not implying it was fine or anything but just out of curiosity, what
about that JB paint job was disappointing? It looks pretty dialed in
the photos. Almost like it was a computer generated image or
something. But then again the photos don't show everything of
course.

I really dig the finish on this bike. I think it's probably the
coolest colors/decals Rivendell has done so far.

The geometry chart is now up on the Rivendell site, at the bottom of

Well, I like the 71.5 on the Hillborne. Then again, my alltimefav was
70 on the old Stumpyjumpys. That and a B-72 was nighon about perfect.
As to color, my opinion is "so"? If it's lined, great. Never owned a
bike that was lined out. If not, fine. Not like I won't necessarily
go and mess wit

Not sure anyone could say these lined lugs are garish. Indeed, I would
describe this bike as very subtle and understated (along wit

Indeed. And so far, no outraged towards GP's less than apologetic
views on potential TCO.

This is interesting: Grant posts about geometry, with a comment on
paint at the end. And where do we go from there? I'll take that as
endorsement of GP's design talents; he sweats the 1/2 degree angle

I'm generally anti-luglining myself, but i thought the photos of the

The 48cm Hunqa looks great - kudos to Mark...
Keep it just like it is - the lining makes the Hunqa just a bit
different.
And my vote included $1400 a few weeks ago ..

PS: If you change the scheme, please give me dibs on the prototype.

Even your solid colored bikes are beautiful! The solid orange
Hillborne hanging next to the Hunqapillar in one of the pictures, and
the solid Orange Bombadil someone bought this week are both beautiful--
and they don't have any contrast along the lug lines.
