Bill,
Well stated...my wife comes home and finds me wrenching in the garage and
later tells me I have a huge smile on my face. I think I'm a freak but I
love the smell of Phil Wood grease it's a comfort smell maybe it should be
my new cologne?
In terms of worth and building a bike up I realize
I'd restore it. Maybe not full on back to looking like new but repack the
bearings, elbow grease to clean and polish, new cables, bar tape,a few parts
and pieces, lube it and make it a rider. My guess is it has the potential to
be a nice one.Hard to tell without more detailed pics but seeing what I
thats a sweet old bike and well worth the time and little money for new
tires/cables/housing ect to get it up and running...ive spent time on a lot
worse and have not regretted it much

I'm flattered that my project inspired you. I think it's a great idea,
depending on what you mean by worthy. It's definitely a horrible
investment. My dad's windsor might have been worth $100 before I worked on

commuter myself--any

Curious to here how the S3X rides. I'm seriously thinking about
putting one on the Quickbeam, but I'm waiting to read some feedback
about the ratios and riding characteristics...
