When I flew to France a couple of years ago, I zip-tied everything together in my bike case. If TSA had opened it, they would have removed everything as a single unit. Zip ties are pretty cheap at your local hardware store or from Amazon. Buy enough to re-tie everything on the outbound and hom

I've flown with bikes on Southwest several times. The only drawback is that TSA always opens the cases, nothing was ever damaged however the contents were always shifted and moved. I've been very pleased with bike flights and then don't have to issue with both our luggage and the bike case or
