35 pounds is my bikepacking load, and I blame my vertigo. What's
interesting is the issue is masked on rougher roads and trails and I only
noticed it when tiding it for the first time in a long time on smooth
pavement. That's what I get for having a wimpy brain!

As much as I love the *idea* of olde Englishe Saddlebags, and I've used
very many over 25 years, I've inevitably and repeatedly found that
panniers, with the right rack, are so much more versatile, flexible, and
useful. And, as you've found, the bike handles better with the load lower
down -- tho'
