Riv's version is 26/40. Don't know why they didn't go to 24, but my guess
is it has to do the step up and the front derailer efficiency, if that's
what that's called.
I'd be interested to see if and how well it works for you. I have the 32/40
currently on the Betty and love it. It's not that I do
I've done that on a couple of bikes, including a Bombadil, and find it
very useful gearing. A 24 with a 32 in back will get a loaded Bomba up
most hills. I've used the steel 24 ring that Riv sells. It's been
fine. What are you switching from?
