I had a bike welder braze on posts for v-brakes only on the front of my
Bleriot. MUCH better stopping!

Twice I had frayed cables even when installed by LBS. I was told by 2
different bike mechanics frayed cables were not uncommon - also I remember
the feel was not as good as direct. YMMV

There are real problems with Travel Agents, including safety. I just
changed levers.

I've had most of those bells (I love bells) and now have a Lion from Lion
Bellworks England; by far my favorite. I think you an get it from
amazon.uk. The Spurcycle and Lion reside on different sides and provide

I like the Spurcycle. But I LOVE the brass Lion bell from England. I like
good bells; they have a mystical history

Rivet. The rails are longer than the Brooks. And don't seem to break, like
my Anatomica's. But it feels similar to the Anatomica.

I too like the Spurcycle and no, it doesn't strike by itself over rough
terrain. However I like the Lion bell better, larger and the striker
doesn't strike by itself, nice sound, expensive but good quality.I use the
2 of them for a dichotomous rhapsody.

I ride in a lot of rain a lot lof days. I wear clipless Shimano sandals
over Sealskinz socks over thick wool socks. The Sealskinz don't provide
warmth and get kind of wet thru eventually. Sometimes I have 2 pairs of
socks, change my shoes, socks at work. The sandals have adjustable velcro
strap
I love the Rivet, longer rails too. and I find it beautiful, tho the B17 is
my 2nd favorite.

I use Sealskinz socks over wool socks in Shimano clipless sandals here in
rainy Vancouver; Showers pass and Rivendell's luxurious bright orange
rainpants ( have been told " You look just like Kraft Macaroni and
Cheese"); layers of merino wool and merino tights under MUSA shorts; a dick

Travel Agents feel funny and the cable is much more susceptible to
breaking.V-brakes are better in the wet.
