This depends so much on the airline and the staff. That said, I have more than
once seen a brompton stashed in the overhead bin, no bag or anything.
I would stash mine in a tyvek bag. As long as it fits the size requirements for
carry on it should be alright.

Just for a point of clarity, Rivendell sells a triple crank with a chain guard
and two rings (middle and granny) in a couple of configurations. They do not
sell a sub-compact double. Some of the other cranks mentioned here are doubles
that allow small ring (outer and inner) combinations.

As far as I know all phil wood bolt on hubs allow this. Any hub brand where the
bolt provides the “shelf” that the dropout rests on will work the same. With
the bolts removed all the way the hub is only as wide and the hub flange and it

I have had a few sets of silver shifter #1. Every now and then one of them has
excessive play in the internals. Thicker washers don't help. Tightening it
doesn't help. Does anyone have a trick for these to help adjust the tolerance?

I am not interested in an adapter that uses a second adapter (a 31.8 to
28.6 shim).
I was able to find one from IRD that might be workable.

Cyclotourist's new addition has me thinking again about a "singlespeed"

Some have installed longboards, or SKS fenders on their Ram but there are
also many who were successful in installing metal fenders.
There are a couple things one can do to improve the clearance for fenders.
What brakes do you have? The stock Shimano brakes are nice at stopping but
the Tekt
The sf bay listing ended up going on for so long that the price did
eventually drop to $900 complete. This bike is missing many of the parts.

What ever happened to that robin's egg blue proto legolas that was recently
on the list? Did anyone here buy it. I know it was last listed as a
complete bike on sf craigslist for $900, then a while later posted here on
the list by the new owner. I should have snatched it up.
