I'm looking forward to Homers in dark green. That might have to be my first
Rivendell. A lugged Roadini is probably more appropriate for my needs, but
dark green is possibly my favorite color for a bike. I need to get a
wheelbase measurement on the Homer and make sure I can do a bike that long
I've never used a low normal derailleur, but I love the idea and will
definitely get one if and when they get them in. I love that they've put
time into this. It's too bad they couldn't get their own design over the
finish line, but I'm happy to see MicroShift has picked up the baton.

With the chain stays on the Appa, it may not fit with both wheels on, based on
what I can fit in my Hyundai Accent hatchback (a bike with 46cm chainstays is

in the front, they are the limiting factor in fender/tire clearance. Dia

Personally, I would consider the extra clearance a plus. That's commonly a spot
where fender clearance is reduced by brake interference. I understand not
wanting that if you don't plan on ever fendering the bike, or don't want to
maximize tire size, but I'd personally only consider it a problem

I would think Choco or Albatross bars would work great on a Clem. Perhaps
the combination of how high and far back the Boscos come could be why
you're feeling they aren't wide enough? I would think a bar that got a

Seconding this. I've used CR18's (and previously Sun M13's as well) for
years. Most tires have been no problem, although some were a little tight
with cloth rim tape. Switch to something thinner like tubeless tape and you
shouldn't have a problem.

I just saw the samples in person. I was killing time waiting for a flight back
to Seattle this evening, and took BART out to RBW, since I wanted to pickup
some new Dia Compe 610’s.

No need to be sorry - nobody claimed a HiteRite is everything a modern
dropper is. I just said I think they work better than some might give them
credit for, and I don't think anyone else said or implied much different.
Happily use your dropper judgement free - I bet their fun to use!

Your Bombadil looks really good! I am generally not super big on that light
silvery blue color, but the contrasting dark blue heartburn wins me over. I
would take one like that in a heartbeat. It's funny how such a small detail can
change your while impression of something.

Hite Rites are kind of awesome low tech wonders. Yeah, modern droppers have
more functionality, but Hite Rites work better than I bet a lot of people would
expect.
