Hey Nick - I know this is a Riv site, but I'm with you on the PX10...for
years, that was my only bike, and I still have mine hanging in the garage
for when I need a reality check. I picked up an additional '72 frame last
year, and was thinking it might make a fun 650B single-speed. Would you

I’ve found Brooks saddles uncomfortable (B17, B17N, Pro, Flyer, leaving
aside a 72 which was fine on a Raleigh Sport) and use first edition Flites,
but my experience is that with the right saddle properly set up one should
not need any special pants for rides up to ~35 miles (tho’ most of my

I'm a B17 person. No pads or anything, usually 20-60 miles (during the
kinder parts of the year).

Grand Bois Cypres or Hetre. I also run 38mm GK Slicks. The GKs feel a
little more stout but in my experience the Grand Bois tires have a nicer
road feel.

My leather saddle is a Berthoud Aravis. Most frequently I use lycra biking

I wear bike shorts with the pads that Kucharick used to put in their
shorts. These were offered for a couple of years at least prior to their
closing. Not overly bulky. I ride Brooks B17 saddles. I cannot ride with
out some padding.as I have none of my own.

Jay,
I’ve been riding only Selle Anitomica saddles the past few years. I had
some brooks in the past and never cared for them as much as the Selle
Anitomica. I can ride them all day without padding after I break them in,
and even during the break-in process they are comfy, but gave me a bit of
I commuted 30 miles a day for a few years in Maine, I rode lots of tires,
but the ones I got flats on where the light casing slick Gravel Kings, and
Rene Herse light casing. The standard casing Rene Herse held up well, but
cut easily, enough so that the tire lasted 1/4 the miles of the Pari-Moto
I have a NIB pair of 650x38 Loup Loup Pass Standard Casing tires that I
would sell for $120 shipped CONUS if you're interested. I upsized to
650Bx42 (BSP) and they're sitting on the shelf.
38s are better than 32s, but 42s are better still!

Have there been any updates on what bikes are going to coming through in
2025? I've been following the weekly newsletter but can't recall if there
was anything announced.

I was curious to get some views from those with leather saddles and whether
