Hey Patch, I used to go up and ride the loop around redwood regional park, definitely some challenging hills in there but I remember it being fun. I've just made it out to Marin, been here a week. Would love to link up for a ride and join you for a mixed terrain adventure out thataways, and itd

[RBW] Re: Front derailleur options for 38/24 front, 11-36 rear?

Good question, chef. I did consider other options, including a 42T 1x setup like I had on my previous bicycle. When I looked at Rivendell's build options and other writings, they suggested the 38/24 for all-around riding on a variety of surfaces and if you didn't have a preference, go with that.

Leah- love it! When you buy used, you can pretty much break-even on the subsequent resale. It is just a matter of timing liquidity. And you could possibly transfer parts over to the new frame, if you like the set-up, and sell just the frame. Or decide that lugs aren't crucial. Many possible out

Planned impulsivity, I like it. That's a very sound plan in my opinion because you can likely score a TIG Roadini for a good price, and all the parts would swap over to either a lugged Roadini if you love it, or a CHG if you think you want something longer. I know you're not trying to be, but I th

Hi Robert, just wondering if you have considered a 42/28, or other options for the front? I have been running a Silver 38/24 with a chainguard on my All-Rounder for the past year or so, and I'm planning on converting to a triple, swapping out the guard for a third, 46T ring. I found the smaller
