I have an old Berthoud from the first 400 made and faced the same issue. I
emailed Berthoud direct and they were willing to ship one via the post at
no cost to me. I just explained that I had an older one without the clamp
and they obliged. Hope that helps!

Well, that’s hopeful!I got mine today, too. I have it installed and I slammed it as far as it will go and it will just barely work for me. I sized up in my Platypus frame so I have very little seatpost showing. This seat post cannot be slammed all the way because it widens at the top. But I think t
I heard back from my friend Jim who received and mounted the revised IRC
seatpost.
Here's what he said:

"Received it 2 days ago. Long ride yesterday and it is a game changer! No
slippage….my Roadini is now dialed in. Can’t wait to ride it again."

If you saw Riv’s IG today, you will have seen a RivSister named Sarah
holding her custom yellow Platy aloft, PlatyPosing, as we RivSisters like
to say.
Sarah isn’t wild about learning to post to this platform, and since we talk
on the DMs all day (stolen moments, as we’re both nurses and mother
Yeah. There are no cheap versions of the 145mm tandem rear hubs, plus a
full wheel rebuild wasn't what I wanted. The good news is that the kids
will outgrow being seen with dad on the triplet before we wear out this
next set of pawls and we can then sell the bike.

as Piaw when I needed new pawls
Thanks to all the responders! They are now spoken for.

Hey all,
I'm moving into a smaller place and need to make room so I'm hoping
somebody here may like to have these old Rivendell Readers, issues #21
through 34.
If you're in the Sacramento area, we could arrange some sort of drop off.
Otherwise, I'll ask for the cost of shipping these. I don't
Howdy folks
I’m looking for one of these for a didn't-come-with-one older but lightly
used Berthoud saddle. As far as I can tell, it is not currently available
in the U.S. and shipping from Europe quadruples the price :^( Please give
me a holler if you have one that you aren’t using or know of a
Yes! Good eye, Max! And Ryan, good memory! My RivSister (we met on
Instagram) wanted a yellow Platy and we have been planning and dreaming for
weeks, and here it finally is. I will start a new thread about her bike
(she asked me to because she isn’t in love with technology) tonight,
probably la
Oooh nice! I feel like Leah mentioned someone getting a Platypus and
wanting to paint it yellow fairly recently...within the last 6 months or
so.

John — Riv sells the Sugino/Clipper/New Albion doubles for about $150.
Seems reasonable to me.
You can also get them from Soma Fab for even less at $130, they have sales
kinda regularly, too. If you sign up for their newsletter you'll get
alerts. Sometimes they do 30% off.

John G - Ouch! That's a very serious crank failure. Had you basked the
crank at one time?
FWIW, I like the FSA Vero crank on my QB, low q-factor and used with a 103
spindle BB it give a fairly straight chain line.

Hey y'all, my riding group is doing a Solstice Campout on Sat June 24 at
Mountain Lakes Park in North Salem, NY, right on the border with
Connecticut. Accessible by Metro-North Railroad from NYC (approximately 8
miles from Goldens Bridge, closest MNR station) as well as points
north/east/west.
Last pair of tires are gone. TY!
