Wald baskets come in black. Rivendell even has their large “racer” baskets
in black. I was intrigued by Analog’s cerakote stuff, but it was mostly out
of stock. Cool idea, nice colors.
The only rusting I’ve had on my baskets is the bits where I sanded the zinc

I think the Gallops are 2023 and they have already gone through two proto

Suggest removing your basket and mix 50/50 water and white vinegar and
scrub affected area with steel wool.
Rinse and spray paint with black primer / top coat Rustoleum.
If rust is too much then find a new inexpensive 139 on line. I saw one for

Brendon, I have the Origami ones from PDW and they actually work great!
I’ll likely end up using them on my Susie just because they are easy and

Maybe kick-ass long reach caliper brakes are inherently unlikely because
the needed length alone - no matter what great brake pads are installed -
makes the brake arms less forceful than, say, medium reach brakes (like on
my Ram).

FWIW, when the BB on my Hillborne needed replacement, I swapped out the
Tange 107mm BB with a Shimano UN300 107mm BB and the inner chainring made

For real!! The brake clearance on these bikes isn't great, but that was
more-or-less a known trade-off from the get go (rim brakes and fat tires
are a tough combo).
I had to replace Paul Motolites with some Tektro knock-offs that were in my

Thank you for the reply. I am running 2.5” and there is maybe 2mm of

prefer to have more room there anyway. The brakes do work very well though.
