On another subject, maybe with this switch to the Far East for
manufacturing, Riv could resurrect the Ram. Just a thought.

I was able to jam my tent (sans poles) into that space on my Clem and it held
fast with some creative use of an Irish strap!
That said, I’d love to know more about bags that’ll fit the space.

Beautiful bike and tempting. Hope someone snaps it up quick. I have a
saluki and a romulus that I think I'd have to get rid of to justify this
one. which just seems like a massive headache. And then the fear of
regret...
Best of luck with the sale. It looks to be in fantastic condition.

Mat, for winter, down to -20˚F, I oversize my shoes by +2 or 3 and wear boiled
wool socks (multiple pair, as needed, also sized up a bit). This will get a bit
trickier as I put in the leather insole which takes up room, but the essentials

Allright. Here's what I am going to try. I am going to have Steve Rex (

have Doug install them on my Williams' tubeless-ready wheelset. Down the
road I will buy a compressor ( just a tank) so I can get the beads set. My

Since, the beginning of summer I've been rocking Chaco sandals, no real foot

Hey!
I actually just bought one of these (the last one in stock at Analog) and

I'm a size 10 and on moderately on the wide side of feet. Nothing out of
the ordinary, but that 8" platform felt rather nice underfoot, especially
with thin sandals. Thanks for the update Deacon, and keep us posted on how
you like the urban pedals. If the Grip Kings don't work out long term,
Ian. Thank you for the explanation. It sounds like a perfect compliment to the
Joe. I’ll just need to raise bike funds to buy one. Or if anyone wants to trade
a Sam for a Jones, let me know.

Hey, Mat! The shift to a toeclip pedal is going well. Some of it you can read
about here:

I’ll likely do another post after I’ve bikepacked with the Rinko MKS Urban

We’re on our way out now from PGH, PA.
I’m riding a double TT S Hillborne. Will look for your Riv!

Alas, the rearward pedal extender met it's end after less than 6 months.
It stressed enough to break at the right angle bend. I thought about
making one that is stiffer out of a steel rod, but I've decided to try flat
pedals for now as mid-foot pedaling and the extended toe clips have an

Yep I love Compass tires. The pictured tires (Challenge Gravel Grinders)
were really just for a fit test; the clearance was a little too tight for
comfort. I rode 700 x 32 Compass tires on my Roadeo most of the time, and
sold them with the frame. I could have fit fenders above the 32s if

As we have a number of new folks here and as this has become a bit of a how to

but I use them on my cargo trailer, with strapping Irish, with a daft Scottish
engine. Grin.

Don, not the tire you want Pasela 35s definitely fit. A tad more clearance than
the 38s shown on Tim’s Roadeo.

The chainstays aren't the defining characteristic of Jones geometry! On the
LWB with truss fork the HTA is 67.5 and the fork has 76mm offset. Looks
like short wheel base HTA is 69 and unicrown fork offers 55mm offset. So
you're still getting a long wheelbase that offers stability but more from

Salt, vinegar and beer are great for recovery from almost everything, from a
long ride, to a night on the town to a failed marriage (that last one might
take two beers) :-)

Definitely Niel, I just use Crystal because it’s what I had on hand when I was
rummaging for a recovery snack. Salt, vinegar and a beer really help with
recovery from a long ride.

Do you think the problem with MUSA frames is just the cost or the ability
of Waterford to produce lugged frames. It could be a combination, high
cost, low demand, less vendor interest to commit resources.
