Our BTWD was delayed by two weeks due to the fires in San Diego. All is
well now (for most of us, but my heart goes out to those who lost). The
morning pit stops had some cool stuff and I salute the provisioners and
volunteers.

Today I installed a pair of TRP CX8.4 mini V brakes on my wife's Atlantis.
Over the years, we've tried various combinations, with only marginal
success. The stock Tiagra levers fit her hands nicely and seem to
work'n'play well with the mini Vs. No extensive test ride yet but on a
casual spin

The final (I promise) shared blog post about the GAP this is my

I have a 66 cm Quickbeam and a 66 cm Atlantis. I would agree with Mr.
Powers that the Quickbeam is not a lightweight tubeset.
Rivendell advertised the Simpleone as having 0.9/0.6/0.9 tubing all around,
and I would be surprised if the Quickbeam is any lighter.

Yesterday I was on some Northern California single track, and with the
unpredictability of recent weather still had my SKS Longboards installed.

Reyes hostel. It’s about 40 miles from SF and is in a very secluded location
near the Pacific coast. The roads are fine for small wheels, but beware the 17%

I've stayed both at Pigeon Point hostel and at the Montara hostel north of
Half Moon Bay. As I remember, both are standard hostels. Both are located,

One cheap and interesting place to look into would be the hostel at the Pigeon
Point lighthouse. I haven't stayed there, but I've been there, and it looks
nice. Plenty of great riding option up and down the coast and inland. Check
with the Santa Cruz Randonneurs or RUSA for suggested routes--the
Big Basin is wonderful, but as Jim said, all the riding there is hilly. If
you want to camp near where you could make a coastal/inland loop that was
less hilly, though by no means flat, you could camp at Butano State Park or
Half Moon Bay State Beach. You could then make a loop going south on
Highw

I'd be riding bars like these, but after neck stenosis problems, these bars
have kept me riding! Great comfort and hand positions. Have put them on
