There were many variations on the bullmoose theme that came on early MTB's.
Some had much more vertical rise than reach, others were flatter. Some
were cheap, heavy, chromed steel, others were nice chromoly. Of the ones
i've seen, the 80's ones were generally much straighter--with less sweep

I've only used the new ones - which I like a lot, but I need to cut a
little off the ends for my short arms - but the only major difference I see
is that the originals had a straight section instead of the continuous
arcing curve of the Rivs. I doubt there's much difference in grip position.

NYC does not have alot of good bike shops, unfortunately. On the bright
side Bikeworks NYC is an awesome shop, and are known by many the un-racer
as a place to go as a respite from the CF-sub 1000 gram crowd.

Due to some cash flow requirements, I'm attempting to sell my
year-old-dear-old Sam. I won't be totally bikeless as I have my recently
built Soma to keep me company. I had Riv paint the head tube and lug
windows cream when I ordered it, which came out beautifully I think. It's

First, you always want to make sure you can reach the big-ring,

If we did not recently get a 52cm Betty Foy I would be all over the frame. The
Betty is a 57.5 virtual TT so somewhat similar idea.
