but the entire system has slowed to a craw, cant see how it could be related

I need to reconfigure qmail-scanner settings, ive
just taken over a box and receiving 1000's of message warnings daily,
mainly relating to failure notices and virus warnings. Someone suggested that i
can just run ./configure to reissue the settings. the config script no longer
