To further clarify: I transferred both .qgz files from a USB disk to the user's Documents directory. One opened, the other gav the "Unable to unzip file..." error. So not a network or shared volume issue. I did not know enough about Windows to try unzipping the .qgz file :-( Back on the Mac sy

It would be very helpful if the Mac download file names included the version info. For example:  "qgis-macos_3_34_7-ltr.dmg"   instead of just "qgis-macos-ltr.dmg" As currently named the only way to determine the version is to download the entire .dmg. Not a problem for those with high bandwidt

The shapefile you created from your .csv contains only Attributes, NO Geometry. I don't know of a way to easily add geometries, e.g., coordinates. You could have as easily used Layer > Data Source Manager > Delimited Text to read in the .csv into an attributes-only layer.  Lets name it "ATTRIB".
