Partly for security, but mostly for avoiding mistakes, I've configured
dashboard in read-only mode in settings.yml(enable_read_only_mode:
true).
If I want to now delete a node from the dashboard is there a way I can
do this?
I've had a look at the node rake task and can see I can add a new
node,
I think there's two answers, actually :)
The first is that you're not reading it wrong. Since the implementation
executes the commands from the puppet client, the standard duplicate
resource problem applies. However, as I learned at PuppetCamp, some work has
recently been merged in to work arou

Hello,
I am facing a strange behaviour with exported resources overriding in 0.25.5
(CentOS). I am using nagios with exported resources. In my base class, I define
a hostgroup by default for all nodes. In an apache vhost define, I override
this hostgroup to a value common to all webservers. Thi
Hello all,
I would like to be able to have an email sent to me if Puppet makes
any changes to files, services, packages, etc.
I can easily send an email with exec, but can't see a way to do it
only after a change.
Is this possible?
Running puppet-0.25.5-1.el5 on a mixture of CentOS and RHEL 5.4

Sorry for the triple post, my work proxy was blocking the success

Thanks - I'll look into those.

Just a quick question about the Puppet ACL system.. If "hostA" gets a catalog
that says "download puppet:///passwd", I assume that hostA can always receive
puppet:///passwd. However, what about hostB? Can hostB make an arbitrary call
to the puppet master requesting "puppet:///passwd" even if its
I'm not sure exactly which bug was fixed, but 2.6.8 has corrected the
operation of my "users" module, which I've been struggling with for

I'm new to puppet, and I've been trying to get a small installation
running. I was having trouble with SSH authorized_keys. The puppet

Great Ohad !
Nice to see that foreman and puppet are so deeply and explicitely integrated
in the next satellite.

I'm not using it but the metrics still sound nice to have graphed. However, I'd
look to implement this into Munin rather than have a secondary set
Puppet-centric graphs sitting around.
Not to thread-jack, but are other people implementing these metrics in things
like Munin, Cacti, or otherwise?
