sndconfig is available for install; it's just not installed by default.
What module are you using?

These don't look right. As I understand, earlier versions could
use freetype directly, which is what this sort of config would be for;
what the new patch enables is use of Xft and fontconfig.

Hm, it's possible that due to this, it didn't have an IRQ assigned; that would
be odd, though.
(We don't configure devices that don't have IRQs assigned to them.)

It needs to link against both Xft2 and fontconfig.

Looks like a driver bug of some sort. Can you post the lspci -v

You have a freetype library other than the one shipped with Red Hat Linux
*somewhere* on your system, I believe.

Bill
try in /etc/hosts.
I installed the RPMs from mysql.com - MySQL-3.23.53a-1.i386.rpm and it
works fine without any entries in /etc/hosts. One difference is that
the mysql.com RPM installs init.d/mysql which is quite a bit different
from the RedHat's init.d/mysqld.

PHOEBE is 6 CDs of software (3 binary, 3 source), including,

You may need to load an alsa-specific mixer to unmute it...

Presumably this is not the xmms that ships with Red Hat Linux.
You'll probably have to talk to whomever you're getting that RPM from,
or rebuild the source RPM yourself.

If it's your only sound card, change sound-slot-1 to sound-slot-0.

It supports some CD drives that didn't work before, but fails on about
an equal number that did work before. Details about your machine,
chipset, and BIOS in bugzilla could be useful; file against the syslinux

kontrol-panel is not in the final release; you probably have an older
version built against older libs.

BTW, if you have not already done so, you probably want to turn on Magic
SysRQ in /etc/sysctl.conf:
# Enable the magic-sysrq key
kernel.sysrq = 1
Then read Documentation/sysrq.txt in the kernel tree, and figure out
how to send a
