Hi,
usually bundled with the server would be some installation CD's which would
init the drives and let u install ur server OS ,
if u have such a CD (system installation/management CD .. ) boot up from
that CD and follow the instructions ..
i hope that helps ..

All,
How can I create/write/read the various
Unicode files(like UTF16-LE, UTF8, UTF16-BE)
In Advanced Server 2.1 or RH 8.x/9.x?
When I write a binary file using fputws(), the letter 'A' should be
added
As '00 41', but it only adds '41' when we see the file via hexdump.
Any ideas?

I would guess that you did not have to restart the machine, but could have
started or restarted the affected processes and achieved the same result.

use ssh / sshd - already installed, already works

First may be you must be sure that the telnet server is installed ( may be
you have only the client ). rpm -qa | grep telnet may help you.

Is there a way to limit the number of concurrent network connections?
Perhaps a tunable kernel parameter in /proc?
If so, is this done on a protocol by protocol (tcp, udp) basis, or
perhaps on a port-by-port basis?

Hi,
When trying to power off my computer, it hangs on "Power down." at the
end and my computer does not switch off.
I'm using a 2.4-18smp kernel. I've read it was not possible to use apm
with smp kernels.
Adding "apm=power-off" to kernel command line did not work.
Is there a solution to this?

I started the PC with the install cd1, and at the boot prompt did
linux mediacheck
For each of the 3 Pink Tie disks, the result was fail.
I then repeated this in a different PC, and all 3 disks passed fine.
So it looks like the problem is the cd. Thanks for the lead.

If your systems does not have it install do
rpm -ivh
ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/redhat/8.0/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/telnet-0.17-23.i386.rpm
if your system does have it installed it should be under
/etc/xinetd.d/telnet
vi telnet
and change
disable = yes
to disable = no
then go to /etc/init.d
run
Preferably ssh and with terminal emulation supported so a screen editor
can be used during the login session.
Does the Sharp Zaurus support this?

Thanks for the offer, but I think I've solved the problem, or at least

just treats them as text/plain, and my browser renders them

How easy is it to subscribe the Zaurus to a major wireless network
carrier? Since our agency uses AT&T Worldnet, I wonder whether we could
bring the new Zaurus's under our existing contract.
Also, with the WiFi card, and assuming coverage provided by a major
network carrier, how good is the area c
