That's becasue, I believe, a standard restart of xfs closes all its open sockets (which are feeding fonts to th X server) and reopens new ones. What you should do is just send xfs a SIGUSR1 as root (sudo pkill -USR1 xfs). This will just make xfs re-read its config file. Check out the man page. H

Take a look in your /var/log/messages right after this happens. I get this problem quite regularly with my wpc11 card. Something about bap overrun or something plus tons of messages about Tx and Rx. Restarting network works just fine for me and if you do it fast enough, ssh sessions and the like

Out of curiosity have any brave souls tried to get this to do tv out? / the mga_vid module for mplayer to go on this new build? I tried with the matrox drivers but had stability issues and couldn't get the mga module to accelerate dvd playback.. I know this is a bit high end, but I would love to

Hi everyone, Thanks to this list, I have one computer playing ogle by x forwarding from another on my network with a DVD player. Very cool. I know it's working, because ogle isn't installed on the box that is displaying... so cool. Now the question... How would I get the sound out of the rem
