Problem syncing Visor using KPilot

That's becasue, I believe, a standard restart of xfs closes all its open sockets (which are feeding fonts to th X server) and reopens new ones. What you should do is just send xfs a SIGUSR1 as root (sudo pkill -USR1 xfs). This will just make xfs re-read its config file. Check out the man page. H

Take a look in your /var/log/messages right after this happens. I get this problem quite regularly with my wpc11 card. Something about bap overrun or something plus tons of messages about Tx and Rx. Restarting network works just fine for me and if you do it fast enough, ssh sessions and the like

Hello,     I have an IDE CD Writer (Sony 32x)   When I boot normally, it works ok as hda (I have SCSI hard drives)   Now if I want to burn CDs, I understand I have to enable SCSI emulation in the kernel parameters and boot with hda=ide-scsi as a kernel option.This allows me to write CDs, but

USB Cable Modem

Hello all, I had one of my boxes using the USB connection from my Cable modem and everything was running pretty good, until I had to switch to the CLI (not a terminal... no X). For some reason some sort of output was being thrown to the screen something about Sockets... The reason I don't remember
