I've found that sometimes, even fuser doesn't point out everything.
In these circumstances, I've found it useful to use

I have a process loopd that I just can't seem to
kill with any command I've used. I've sent it every
imaginable form of kill signal so far and it simply
does not respond.
vmstat gives this output:

I added the global parameter
disable spoolss = yes
and re-added
I've got a RH8.0 server hosting a printer
for a windows network. Although I can print fine,
all users get a "Access Denied, Unable to Connect"
message when attempting to view the queue.
I am using an HP Laserjet 5, lpd.
Printing works perfectly over the network through lpd

I need to install an email-fax server,

I've tried hylafax, but it doesn't seem to work,

How do I get this to work ?
I have downloaded the divx 5 codec from divx.com,
but I still have no luck.
Either I need something else, I'm not referencing
the codecs (.so files in /usr/local/lib/ ) correctly
or I'm thinking of this the wrong way.
Can anyone give me any pointers ?
Have you installed the nvidea drivers or are you still using the default
nv driver for you card ?
using squid, is there any way I can throttle bandwidth throughput on a
per-machine basis, or even on a per user basis.
Say, 8kbps for any connection machine OR/AND
Joe -> 12kbps, Harry ->768kbps ...
Where are the key mappings for a console window defined ?
Eg
-> CTRL+E
-> CTRL+A
and the like ?
I've noticed this differs across terminals...
Tell me everything :-)

I have the following two scripts (below) that I've gotten a bit confused
with.
What I want to do is dump a daily log of the router ip accounting into a
text file for that day.
The bash script 'runlog' runs the expect scripts 'commands'.
If I run '#expect commands' I get the output I want.
If I r
On my own machine, things work perfectly.
As soon as I ssh to another machine, I get errors that confuse me
greatly (on that machine)
Using vim or vi, joe, emacs:
Terminal entry not found in terminfo
'Eterm' not known. Available builtin terminals are:

builtin_xterm

When I run vim, I get:
vim: Symbol `ospeed' has different size in shared object, consider
re-linking
1.)What does this mean ?
2.)What do I do to fix it ?

Evolution has no proxy settings and it ignores all the gnome proxy
settings that I've set up.
I can run nautilus and it uses a proxy, same with galeon etc, but the
Evolution summary can't reach anything through the firewall...
The file ~/.gconf/system/http_proxy/%gconf.xml contains the correct

Anyone know of a good batch mp3 to ogg converter ?
I have a large chunk of stuff to convert...
Ok, after a fresh upgrade from 7.3 at long last I have a supported i845G
intel chipset... redhat, you have all the gratitude that I can muster up
to give you ! :-)
I'm a staunch blackbox/Eterm user... Eterm and Esetroot no longer work.
I supsect it is because of the new c compiler ?
