I have seen some people on the list trying to get PHP, MySQL, and Apache 2
working together on Redhat 8.0. I have it all running together on many boxes.

Had the same problem. I used the config from the menu [Network] to solve
the problem. Instead of host: Say .Katanga
I changed it to Katanga.africa.zaire.drc. It did the trick for me.
Your login prompt probably shows just [Katanga] instead of
[Katanga.africa.zaire.drc]

re: #1.. a screwed up cut/paste to the wrong window...
#2.. what i really think i need to know is how can i open up the box to
receive communication from a give address/port... in this way i can add the
address/ports that i need.. one at a time.. and test what i'm doing...

I solved my problem by booting from the RH8 install Disk, going through the
upgrade process, and adding the package manager there.
Actually, I like the RH8 Package Manager better than the version in 7.2.
