If you want to reject messages you should do so at the Postfix
"layer". I've read reports on this list indicating that use of
greylisting, Domainkeys/DKIM &/or SPF records can reduce your spam /
backscatter to a degree whereby filtering (such as amavisd) is barely
necessary.

ely, can anyone tell
me, please, how to change the from address of the bounce messages,
please? At least if she has notification of the failures she knows to
call me & I can take a look at the problem; as things stand she just
discovers after some days that the recipient has received no mail
from her.

ation is obviously to stick pop-smtp.bt.mail.yahoo.com and
pop-smtp1-f.bt.mail.vip.ird.yahoo.com in the sasl_passwd.db with the
same credentials, but I fear this will break in the future when BT
alias to yet another different mailserver.

I'm pretty sure that I read something about this a couple of weeks
ago (when I was setting this system up) and that a later version of
Postfix behaves in the desired manner, but I can't find the resource

Hi there,
A customer of mine is, unfortunately, using BT Internet as her ISP,

It seems that she is not getting notification when mail is bounced
because this lame ISP
stfix 2.1 is quite old. You may consider moving to the latest
version 2.5.5 (currently)
Yeah, but it's the typical big fear of messing with any of the Unixy

istic. It is quite aggravating, however, to be treated like a
second-class citizen when I am following RFC. Some major ISPs do not,
and yet they get away with it just because one can't simply ignore
their whole huge customer base.

When setting up SBS2003 I was amazed to find that most MS MVPs condemn
use of the brain. They tell administrators "not to be clever" and
advise using the setup wizard throughout the server's whole
installation.

ot sure your purpose in sending messages to other machines on
your network - usually an email program (like Outlook, Apple Mail or
Thunderbird) will get its messages from a POP3 or IMAP server (of
which one would typically have one on a small network) and not
"directly" via postfix.

You appear to have accidentally posted twice. I trust this wasn't
intentional.

I've been very happy with a fechmail ⇒ maildrop system, but have to set up a
new server soon.

I had this message from them 12 days ago.
I opened a support ticket with my provider (Linode), they contacted Microsoft
and I was unblocked within about a day.

• To everyone else, they're accusations or allegations.
• To me, they're _very credible_ accusations
• We can't corroborate that your systems are treated this way, because we don't
have access to your systems.
Hope this is clear and helpful,

PDFs are a convenient format because they'll always display the same on any
system. On a Mac they're easy to create from any application that prints, and
display more quickly than a Word document - completely natively as part of the
message in Mail.app.

, is that
right?
As I recollect, in the past I have copied the whole message into a scratch
file, then deleted everything except the marks "part", then run uudecode on it.
