Hi,
I would like to know if there is a command line tool for managing many
postfix servers from a central server. I have 4 servers running postfix
and I would like to manage the mail queues from one single machine.
Thanks in advance,
Julian
Hi,
I have a cronjob that rebuilds my /etc/postfix/virtual_alias
and /etc/postfix/virtual_transport files every 15 minutes. I have
noticed that while the rebuild is going on and all processes realize
that the files have changed and restart I often get bounced mails.
For example, this is an excerp

Hi,
I have a problem with my virtual alias map. The file looks like this:
...
admin-...@cs.uni-duesselorf.de admin-...@uni-duesseldorf.de
admin-...@cs.hhu.de admin-...@uni-duesseldorf.de
...
When I build the db file with "postmap virtual_alias" and then query
with "postmap -q virtual_alias", I

Anyway, I am going for a single big file now. I assume its not a problem
that this map is 40MB big?

Hi,
would it be faster to have several smaller files for alias_maps and
transport_maps for each virtual domain, or have one giant file each with
all users domain from all virtual domains in one file? Around 90% of
traffic is for one domain and the rest is split among 32 other domain.
Thanks
Julia
Hi,
On my servers I get this (non-consequential) error every so often:

Hi,
I have several lookups configured and I would like to know in which
order these are executed by postfix if a new mail arrives.
The lookups in question are:
virtual_mailbox_maps
virtual_alias_maps
transport_maps
and check_recipient_access in smtpd_recipient_restrictions
Thanks
Julian

Hi,
I was just wondering why my postfix was continuing to try to deliver a
mail to another server after getting a 554 response the first time.
Shouldn't the delivery stop right then and there and the sender be
notified? Instead postfix tried for several days to deliver the message
before it ultima
Hi,
I would like to have the possibility for my users to opt out of their
incomming mail being scanned by a spam filter. Is there a way I could
achieve this using ldap tables? Maybe with smtpd_*_restrictions?
Thanks
Julian
Hi,
is it possible to have more then one table in check_recipient_access?
Like this:
smtpd_recipient_restrictions =
check_recipient_access
ldap:table1.cf
ldap:table2.cf
ldap:table3.cf
permit_mynetworks
permit_sasl_authenticated
reject_unauth_destination
or am I limited to on
Hi,
I would like to start a few policy daemons using the master.cf file when
I start postfix. Are those processes restarted automatically when they
end (for whatever reason)?
excerpt from master.cf:
spamwatch inetn n n - - spamwatch
distgrp inet
ache unix - - n - 1 scache

Sending mails to distribution lists that do not require an allowed
broadcaster still works.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks in advance,
