Is it possible to decode AAC on my NAS, or am I restricted to MP3?
If it is MP3 only, how do I change the Codec it uses?
I am missing iPlayer so any tips on getting it to work would be
appreciated!

For instance it is 9:10pm here, the PM programme (5:00pm) is available
on MP3, but the 6:00pm news is not. It appears to be playing but there
is no sound, so I am presuming it is only available on AAC.

v0.7 and it all works fine now. The menus are actually rather quicker
to pop up (probably the lack of graphics) and I can now forward fast and
rewind iPlayer streams again. The sound quality is OK too.

I don't have the fast forward or rewind, but I can live with that.
After all I don't have that with live radio either.
No doubt at some point I will no longer be able to use iPlayer with
7.3.3, and I will have to install 7.4.x. But
ternatively is there a quicker way of deleting the rogue playlist
rather than waiting for the servier to build it before deleting it?
I can telnet into the NAS to delete or alter files if necessary.

After a lot of digging I find an enhancement slated for 7.5 that puts a
user defined limit on the number of tracks allowed in a play list. That
would do the job for me! Trouble is, I really don't want to shift from
7.3.3 which otherwise works brilliantly.

I might have a problem with XP and the sound card drivers. There is
only a "Microphone" check box under the recording devices, there are no
other check boxes. Is there a way to get the "stereo mix" (or similar)
check box to appear if it is not already there?

Opened Regedit, searched for "OutR", set it to 0, rebooted and Bingo!

However, like you, I can no longer hear any of the live feeds. But as
I have both DAB and FM I use those for live radio.

k it will depend a lot on which package you are on.
Most UK "local loop unbundled" services do not mess with the connection
at all. Be* and O2 (esp. if you have an O2 phone) are probably the best
of the bunch.

disk version of this NAS (the DS 211) runs the plugin fine. That has a

Actually the DS211 and the DS111 (neither "J" nor "+") use the same

Yes it is just the Arm7 Synology NAS products that have some kind of

This is not actually a problem, as the iPlayer plugin streams play fine.
However, using my Duet, every time I select a BBC radio "play it again"
stream I get a "cannot connect" error message. This stays on the
Controller screen for a few seconds, but behind it I can see that the
plugin has connec

I am puzzled
IMHO it is only a matter of time before MySqueezebox.com is turned off.
Logitech Squeezebox hardware is no longer available retail in the UK
(on-line sellers only, and fewer and fewer of them too) and it seems the
same is happening across Europe and the US too. I reckon about two
years at most.

The main advantage of the plugin rather than the app is that you can
save albums in a "library". I use that facility continually and would
miss it in the official app.
