I am surprised that PasTim is having this problem as I have recently reinstalled both v7.50 and latterly the Max2Play versions (Max2Play is just a web front end on v7.50) and each time both Lame and ffmpeg were available by default. As it is designed to run LMS in has the full set of codec software as standard and works on pretty well all file types "out of the box". All I needed to do to get the HLS streams working was install BPAs plugin and the new menu.opml file. I have a Model B Raspberry Pi (not B+ or 2 B) and both versions of Squeezeplug installed fine.
