Did you see the "portmap" service up & running properly ?
If not you may need to enable that service first.
Other serivice "nfsd" will require on server side.
can you see "nfsd" module in "lsmod" output, I mean is the FS module
get inserted in kernel ? if not then try to get correct versio

hello
i tried to install nfs on redhat linux8.0/9.0 on some
machines it worked fine without any error. but on some
machines it gave an error RPC mount timed out
i checked the /proc/filesystem file in that there is
no entry for nfs
please help
