Hi, Did you see the "portmap" service up & running properly ? If not you may need to enable that service first. Other serivice "nfsd" will require on server side.
can you see "nfsd" module in "lsmod" output, I mean is the FS module get inserted in kernel ? if not then try to get correct version of one. And shared directories should also get exportted by either "exportfs" of adding entry in "/etc/exports". Check "/etc/hosts.allow" too.
