That is using the nearest speedtest.net server. Reliability is
excelent. Speed is consistent -- and I only get to pay 900++ a month.

My point is, don't expect great performance for consumer prices. You

My downtimes are different. There was one instance that the fuse was
loose in the cabinet. When a new line was connected, the fuse got
disconnected and we didn't have access for 1 week. They didn't fix
whatever it is that holds the fuse.
The second downtime was 2 weeks. There was downtime was not

Use Eastern if you can we get an outage once a Year.. Just check speeds to the

Don't know how much we pay and i don't care because the service is so good for
what we do.

Both my old SmartBro account and my new Globe DSL account are sitting
on private IP's.
So... slow Bittorrent (peers can't connect to me...) and I can't run a server.
One work-around I haven't tried is to get a shell account from a US
company (just shell account) then use an SSH tunnel. That way a
condo building. They'll charge
subscribers something like 4T/mo for a 2Mbps line.

Greetings fellow PLUGers!
I've set up a webserver/router for our firm using FOSS. Unfortunately our
connection is a paltry 500kbps P4,000/month DSL SmartBro connection.
I've tried looking for a faster connection. But PLDT says that our box "is
not DSL capable" but the adjacent building is capable
