Icecast 2.4.0 seems to be quite buggy:

I think version 2.4.1 might be a better choice for Jessie: it's basically a bug
fixing release with no new features.

I am experiencing the problem I detail below with Audacity 2.0.6, for which

problem, as Audacity does not support building with wxWidgets v. 3* yet,
