I recently had to try Apache 1.3.22 and PHP 4.1.2 for a demo app for a couple of days
with my client on Windows ME. The following things were miserably failing.
1.. touch function failed with the error: Fatal error because it could not find any
function called utime
2.. unlink fo

i'm just about to experiment with the new handling of session vars
($_SESSION[...]). now if i start with
session_start();
$_SESSION["remember_me"] = "steff";
session_save_close(); // tested with and without this function call
, the var value won't be set correctly. on a following page

Did the include_path change in your php.ini? Verify your include_path
directive in your php.ini.

I have just upgraded to the latest 4.1.2 binaries, I would like to know
if there is any change with regard to session. I cannot retrieve
anything from $_SESSION, but it works fine if I switch back to 4.1.1
with the same config file php.ini.

There IS a security issue with 4.1.1, and the 4.1.2 sources, if you use CGI

There are no known win32 exploits for this particular bug. At some point
we will have a Windows version of 4.1.2, but the Windows version always
lags behind by a bit. You will just have to wait.
As far as I am concerned, an ISP running a Windows web server has much
bigger problems than this par
