I tried to compile php5, but even after I installed the 2.0.48 version
of the apache rpm I still had problems configuring it.
Configure command I used:
./configure --with-mysql --with-libxml-dir=/usr/local/lib
--enable-discard-path --with-apxs2=/usr/sbin/apxs

I am having trouble with php and PHPBB it keeps giving me the error
phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database
and i have narrowed it down to my php installation
but i am still doubting that that is the prob
