I tried to compile php5, but even after I installed the 2.0.48 version of the apache rpm I still had problems configuring it.
Configure command I used:
./configure --with-mysql --with-libxml-dir=/usr/local/lib --enable-discard-path --with-apxs2=/usr/sbin/apxs
it came to the end of the script but in the apache part I get:
checking for Apache 2.0 filter-module support via DSO through APXS... no
checking for Apache 2.0 handler-module support via DSO through APXS... apxs:Error: Invalid query string `APU_BINDIR'.
apxs:Error: Invalid query string `APR_BINDIR'.
./configure: line 1: /apu-config: No such file or directory
./configure: line 1: /apr-config: No such file or directory
expr: non-numeric argument
./configure: line 5105: test: : integer expression expected
./configure: line 5107: test: : integer expression expected

which I donīt know exactly how to interpret.
Do I need the httpd-devel rpm? I had the 2.0.45 installed but for the 2.0.48 I need the apr package, which I am not sure of wanting to install.
So if you could lend me a han, I would appreciate it. Thanks
