Unfortunately not. I was hunting all over the internet and came upon this
information in another posting area kind of like this one. I tried what was
suggested, and it worked. At this point I quit worrying about it. If I find

I want to install apache 1.3.26 with php 4.2.2 (plus png support) on a
suse 8.0 machine.
I constantly get segV errors when using imagecreatefrompng.
Have tried gd 1.8.4 / and the gd beta 2.0.1, have also tried installed
the latest libpng 1.2.4.
The php INSTALL file makes it see
