Compiling PHP with zlib fails with the following errors. Exclude zlib
support and it compiles without issue. Any help is appreciated.

erted to 4.1.2 because of this, however I would really like to get a
newer version going, even if it means going to 4.2.0 without GD support.
~ I'm running Slackware 8.0 with Glibc 2.1.
If anyone has anything to contribute, would be much appreciated.
