Our team is very frustrated with figuring out how copy & paste is supposed
to work in Pharo 3 under X11.
Maybe there's something we misunderstand, or can configure?
We can't copy and paste text directly from other X11 apps into Pharo. We
need to first paste the text into text editors like GEdit o

Hi,
I have discovered a problem with my DrGeo command line handler. Its
purpose, under linux only for now, is to let the user open a DrGeo

Sadly, it seems it does not work when non ascii characters are present

Hi Richard, There has been a request to stop this thread, which I agree
with is not productive, but you obviously put a lot of consideration into
your last post, so I will do you the curtesy of a reply - but this will be
my last comment on this thread.

Responding to myself for archiving purpose.
I forgot again Pharo internal string are not utf-8 but ByteString, so
the string need to be converted back to utf8.
For example in one of the handler method, it can be modified as follow:
DrGeoCommandLineHandler>>loadSketch: aString
| utfString |
utfS
I am doing my pillar work in CentOS Linux and Ubuntu 14.
Now, I think you can get it working in Windows but the main issue will be
generating PDF files as the system uses pdflatex and I don't know how to do
that in Windows.

Hi,
try setting the encoding of pharo to unicode when launching from command

The default encoding is not unicode which messes pasting from some
applications (e.g. Google Chrome 35+).
As far as middle mouse button pasting goes I do not belie

Hi,
Thanks very much - "--textenc UTF-8" works for us!
For the sake of others with the same issue reading this in the archives, I
just want to be pedantic and point out that I doubt "--textenc UTF-8" is
some magic panacea that will work for all systems.
The issue seems to be that the encoding P
