down on the *ist. Nothing happens when you set aperture on it, it's wide
opened at all aperture settings.

Round graduated filters don't allow that because their
"graduated" line generally fits directly over the
centerline of the lens, making compositon difficult.

know anything about the Nikon one? The N80 may not meter ambient light
with MF lenses, but does with TTL flash and can perfectly control (stop
down the aperture) a MF lens in manual mode.

Don't I owe you a Program Plus body if the Ick D ships by Sept.? The PP
is probably more reliable than the LX.

Ahhh, but that is the beauty of the LX - at least the ones I own - they can
take a beating. A couple of them have fallen quite a distance with no
complaints. People on this list can attest to my original 'beat to hell'
That was me and it was joke. My 12 yr old daughter had gone to France,
and the little gifts she brought me were things like a "Paris" coffee
mug and a necktie with the Eiffel tower, i.e., the standard tacky
trinkets. I also got a tie and a mug when she went to Disney world the
year after.

I was under the impression that Pentax "K" and newer
bodies worked with "Stepless" metering? That is, the
camera body closes down the aperture to the setting
you input. If you set f/8 on the lens, the camera body
sets that
