I like the LEE filter system because you can buy graduated filters that slide up/down in the holder. Round graduated filters don't allow that because their "graduated" line generally fits directly over the centerline of the lens, making compositon difficult. 4" filters in a LEE holder avoids vignetting. Say you wanted to shoot a landscape. You want to place the foreground 2/3rd from the top or bottom. With the LEE system, you slide the (a) 4 x 5 graduated filter up or down to the position you want. Not so with most of the 3" Cokins and not at all with round filters. *The LEE system uses 4 x 4 and 4 x 5 glass or resin filters.
