excellent price. Its value proposition is similar or equal to that of
the Nikon D200 at 2/3 the price, and it has some features that are
unique and very useful.

Cotty posted a comparison some time ago.
The difference is in the range of blacks & whites.
I think it is the 14 bits used in raw vs the 8 bits in jpeg.
It allows you to extract extra detail and make it visible in the final jpeg.

That's actually kind of funny. The college I work at has all sorts of
software licences, so I called my support person to see what I could get
on my office computer. The only thing they give out is Photoshop CS3.
(They actually pay something for each installation, but I do occasional
photograph
