[I'm catching up with the list, sorry to resurrect a two week old thread]
The photo I posted was of the istD sporting an Industar 50/3.5, which
has a 39mm thread. The adapter used in the photo was actually loaned
to me by Shel (I have to give it back to you, Shel, sorry). It is not
the right adape

I suppose maybe one could do this:
58/2.4 -> 37mm-42mm -> 42mm-K -> F 1.7 AF Adapter -> Pentax af body

old cameras with new equipment. You get focus confirmation with your
older lens
