It does work with music, but its settings and features are really geared for
voice recording. It has features such as sentence detection which are handy
for navigating through spoken word files. It does have a nice clean
interface, making it pretty easy to learn and use. And of course, it was

Good morning, listers! I have a couple of questions I'd like some help

1. I have never attempted to record streaming audio on my hard drive and
would love the most basic help possible. I have Wimamp, Nero, the cheaper

Hi, groovy listers! Okay. I want to compile a CD from several audio CDs
and burn them with Nero, or even Windows XP Exploer. I was told I could
copy and paste the data from the CDA files into a folder on the hard drive
and then just burn the folder on Nero as an audio disc. But when I check
folder so you can copy them to clipboard then start Nero &
paste them in.
& now to the other person with the mp3 CD question,
A MP3 CD will have a autorun file on it allowing it to play when you
insert it in your CD drive.

you all with your collective wisdom could help me with this one. I'm

Hi, all! Thanks for the advice. As I was looking at this Olympus DM-1 I
came upon something that blew my mind: the OlympusDM-20. Anyone know
anything about it and how useful it is for a blind person?

Hi again! My thanks and appologies for not remembering who sent that very
wise warning about the Olympus dm20; looks like I won't be buying that one!
But I'm wondering if anyone knows if the dm10 is more similar to the dm1
than it is to the dm20? I'm also gathering that the dm1 is pretty blind

Shanon, the Olympus dm10 and dm1 are digital recorders, much like a cassette
recorder or minidisk recorder, and it also plays mp3's. And they appear to
be far cooler than cassettes or minidisks.

Hello PC Audio pals,
I'm wondering if anyone has considered making this list into an online forum rather
than an e-mail list? I am a regular participant in a forum on Worldcrossing.com and it
is really easy to use and access overall.
The difference is this, for those who aren't familiar with for
Hi, all. Going out of town today and will unsubscribe for a little
while. We'll be taking along our new ten gig archose player/recorder with
Rockbox which my beloved husband was able to get talking. Haven't a clue
how to use it yet but I'm sure we'll be full of questions when we get back.

Hi, friends! Love this list! I'm wanting to use both my on-board sound card

I don't know if Sound Forge can be made to scrub through the file; I'd like
to know if it can. Of course, Studio Recorder from APH has that feature. It
uses control-left & right arrow to scrub with sound.

Hi, groovy people! Maybe there's some obscure setting I still need to
change, but here's what seems to be happening. I've set up JAWS to run
through my on-board sound card and (theoretically) everything else to run
through my usb Audigy sound card. When I boo
I use the Irock which is considerably less expensive than the C Crane but
also consierably more limited. It suits me fairly well and may not be a bad
thing if y ou're on a budget. But, I covet my neighbor's C crane and may
end up buying one as well. Wistful simle.

Hi, gang! Thought I'd throw out this question to see if anyone else is
around who might have an answer. I set up JAWS to come out of my on-board
sound card, thanks to your wonderful help. And the rest of the sounds were
playing fine through my usb sound card. Well, that lasted for a day.
Hi, all! I'm sure somewhere on this vast vast list somebody has mentioned
this, but is there a list specifically for archos users who are using
rockbox? I'm trying to finally make friends with my archos and have lots of
questions. Thanks in advance for any help you may have.

Thanks so much, Ron and Jay for your advice. Now I just have to figure

popular on this list; didn't realize it also cleaned up noise. But, Jay,
could you sent me the info on where to download Wave Correcter?

Hi, Gang! Well, I took some of yous guys's advice and downloaded the

If you're focusing mostly on spoken word editing, Studio Recorder from APH
is great. Of course, it can do music too, but some of the best features are
specific to narration. The program was designed to be useful to blind folks,
so you don't have a lot of extraneous decoration to work around.
Hello,
What are the least expensive options for CD burning software you've come
across that are also speech-friendly? Thanks for your input.
