Anders, I don't no if the hv-e5 will be available in europe, I would think so
because they have more things going on then many other countries around them.

Put simply, from my point of view, if its under a grand then such a device
could be worth every cent, of course we're of the assumption that the product
is of good quality build etc.

yes, if it does what it says and doesn't have a lot of bugs it would be
worth the price. but as a booksence xt owner, i would take my time and
make sure that all is what its suppose to be with this product. the

It comes with a 5 megapixel camera. I wonder why they couldn't use an
8-megapixel camera? Wouldn't that make the scanning even better?

I'm not into photography but perhaps that doesn't matter for text? I know that
- when scanning with a monochrome flat-bed scanner - it usually doesn't make
any difference for OCR work.
Let's see how good the device is before we start getting ahead of ourselves,.

AS someone who has scanned over 500 books for Bookshare, I can tell you that
higher resolution can degrade scan quality. It may seem counterintuitive,
but it's true nonetheless. For example, the default resolution for K1000 is
300 dots per inch. But you can set it to 400 or 600. The scan quality

whatever I want to read in a hurry then that's all I care about.
It might be that incorporating a more powerful camera would have jumped the
price up dramatically? Who knows.
