have a short cut to total recorder so you can start the program and exit it.
What is happening is total recorder has its own sound driver wich you can
elect to install or not I think.
Also in your audio preferences set your sound card as the prefered device
and have your pc use only prefered dev
Wel, maybe something to add here is that if this is the case with
ptr2, then maybe it might be better to go for the bookport dt model
instead, as it offer many of the ptr2 features with some extras and of
corse newer hardware, and also alot cheaper. Just a thought.

Hello Don and list: I brought up Total Recorder" and sent a shortcut to the
desk top! Guess what? Sounds gone again and what I tried (going to Sounds
in control panel and hitting Windows default (at least I think that's what I
hit) so far hasn't fixed it! Going to eat breakfast now, but will
So at least I know what's causing me to lose my sounds (Total Recorder)
question is: why has it only started acting this way within the past couple
of weeks? What has changed..and how can I get it to stop doing this? I am
not convinced that TR _always_ acts this way!

please! Someone tell me: what's the _surefire_ way to get these Windows sounds
back if I lose them I(I still don't understand why Total Record
Actually Total Recorder disables system sounds by default. You can tell
it not to do so by going to options, settings, and it's the first check
box in the general category.

Hello Chris and list: Well maybe I've gotten it solved now (I am aware that
if Total Recorder is running; let's say I'm recording something, then the
Windows sounds are gone) but in the past, once I had closed out TR, the
sounds were back! But in the past couple of weeks, I find that even when
Yep, that's what I thought when I first heard of the Book port Desk Top. For

Yep, think about this, the small BP is essentially the PTP1. AKA, the Pocket
with more stuff. You wish they could update what again? If the PTR2, I think
it has to be reforged. I don't really know though. The CF card thing for
instance, wouldn't firmware fix that? I forgot to ask the tech support g
Hi there,
Does anyone know if in VLC, one can perform a function similar to the seek
function in Windows Media Player, and if so, what is the keystroke for that.
I want to be able to, within a file, fast forward a little bit at a time.
